Effective from 5 May 2016 Australia’s Minister for the Environment, the Hon Greg Hunt MP has agreed to list under Australia’s national environmental law a further six migratory shorebirds as threatened in addition to those already listed.

Nine of the twelve species listed under State and Commonwealth legislation are regular visitors to the Shoalhaven area where they rely on important habitats including Lake Wollumboola (Culburra Beach) and Shoalhaven Heads to fulfill their lifecycle requirements.

Habitats at both these areas are now threatened by development pressures from proposed golf courses, housing estates, sea walls and dredging as well as ongoing local cumulative impacts.

Please let others know what we stand to lose. Conservation $$$ are always needed, be a giver, donate generously HERE

Thank You,

For the birds!
